The first home my husband and I purchased was at the corner of a busy intersection, and we became concerned that our children could be struck by a motor vehicle while playing at home. We had front row seats to witness countless near-miss auto accidents, drivers seemingly viewing stop signs as “stop optional”! One day we were nearly hit by a speeding and distracted driver during a routine walk in the neighborhood with our dog. It was then I decided that was it! After some research, I learned that a leading killer of children in the U.S. was automobile accidents, and I decided to take action and developed the DRIVE LIKE YOUR KIDS LIVE HERE® message. I received an immediate and overwhelmingly positive response from neighbors, commuters, and community leaders after posting our first lawn sign. Everyone wanted to know where they could get one!
Our inception, May 2010, our lawn signs are quickly spreading to every state in the country including Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, The U.S. Virgin Islands, and Canada with minimal advertising.
August 2010, we introduced engineer grade aluminum traffic signs, ordered by the Mayor of Prospect, CT and posted throughout his town. Subsequently, several other municipalities across the state and the country have done the same.
In July 2011, in La Jolla, CA, a neighborhood joined together to post over 200 yard signs to raise awareness regarding traffic issues in their community. Over 100 organizations will soon follow; neighborhood groups, schools, fundraising events, businesses, and municipalities from across the country, utilizing our safety signs for their safety campaigns.
April 2012, Daniel Pink, author of several New York Times bestseller books, and chief speechwriter to Vice President Al Gore, writes an article saying our DRIVE LIKE YOUR KIDS LIVE HERE® sign is a textbook example of emotionally intelligent signage, that in his opinion will change the behavior of drivers.
April 2012, Lisa Stark, an ABC national news correspondent who has covered the bombing in Oklahoma City, the crash of TWA Flight 800, the space shuttle Columbia disaster, and the 9/11 terrorist attacks, contacted us. She works on a story regarding our DRIVE LIKE YOUR KIDS LIVE HERE ® signs that ultimately posted in June 2012 on ABC News’ National Website.
January 2013, we began selling our safety products on Amazon.com and consistently rated as a top seller with a 4.8-star rating.
October 2014, our Safety Kid product is released and available for purchase on Amazon.com. January 2015, our DRIVE LIKE YOUR PETS LIVE HERE® yard sign is offered by customer demand as our first pet safety product.
June 2016, our signs are available for purchase at The Home Depot. The introduction into other major retailers would follow shortly thereafter; Lowes, Meijer, Menards, True Value, and Ace Hardware.
June 2018, in Secaucus, NJ, 400 Drive Like Your Kids Live Here decals are posted in UPS delivery trucks under the direction of Daniel Ksyniak, Health, and Safety Supervisor.
